Britain gets back to work as golf courses prepare for busiest day this year

British workers have started getting back to work today on the first day of the slightly slimmed-down version of the coronavirus lockdown.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has urged people to avoid cramming onto public transport and instead cycle or walk to work if possible.

According to Transport for London, the number of passengers using the Tube rose by 8.7 per cent this morning, compared to the same period last week.

Meanwhile golf courses across the country are preparing for what could be their busiest day of the year after the Government’s relaxation of the rules made it possible for people to head out for a round for the first time in months.
